Happy Poppins For Eevee

twenty-five

(this is the time for autographs, and then the Epilogue. But you have to fight so easily from me, the blog will continue. There are more things that we need to talk)

dedicate this paper to Marita, my wife and my sons Marc, Paul and Mary Lelis, for having supported us in understanding and criticism.
His understanding shown to excuse the time to devote to the book first and then to this blog, in my office hours, we rest to share with them.
His criticism, because as the required four prospective readers of each scenario, were able to accurately comment on the errors they found in each.
And because, thank God, I feel always at my side.

To my patients, who have forgiven me on the cover of the blog, next author's name, not the traditional figure "et al." , without whose help this work would not have been possible. I shall be forever indebted to them for that omission.
To all who read the blog (and future readers), thanking them for their comments and concerns.
And a special mention to Maria Dolores, of Barcelona, \u200b\u200bwhich I can only say thanks .

IN MEMORY OF:

Three of my great teachers. Three of my archetypes:
Professor Dr. Juan Pedro Picena: because I was taught that a good doctor is the one who loves his patients rather than the same medicine.
Dr. Professor Guillermo del Sel Ferrari, because he learned that a doctor who thinks differently from the official, is strictly prohibited shut up. Dr. Juan José
Gianni: it was he who introduced me to the magical adventure of "doctor-patient relationship."

And in tribute to someone who did not have the happiness to know, but you did, I know, we had become close friends: Dr. Carl Sagan. He confirmed that my old ideas about the skepticism and against the dogma, were not simply the product of a fiery youthful imagination, but the purest of truths.

EPILOGUE

After observing for years the attitudes of overweight patients struggling with her weight, and the professionals engaged in those duties, continues to amaze me to discover that nothing positive has been achieved Despite all attempts. That this ancient board
"First do no harm" , has only been followed by a few colleagues, and that shortage is very serious. Even more serious would be the continued lack for attention.

is very little that we have done so far by the obese. I accept that.
Nor is much that we're getting to the hemetómanos and Afag. Also I admit.
But we must all accept that there is much that we can try not to worsen their condition. And although we have all the time ahead to start doing things right, we must realize that as goes through all, we urge them to start.

My utopia is that the wall in front of each desk of the doctors who are dedicated to treating overweight patients, it is written in large legible letters, primum non nocere who taught the Old Masters Medicine.

The fat does not consult us because they displace being fat, but because suffer because of it. Unable

continue cheating their enthusiasm with unnatural treatments.
is unfair to try to convince them they are sick and normalize the attitude and medicate with drugs, ALL KNOW have more contraindications and cause more harm than the very fat.
not moral to be given to taking drugs that no doctor in their right mind would prescribe it to his wife or any of their children.
is inhuman that they reinforce the blame for their lack of adherence to the utopian policies that are given, without even trying to find out why secret of this "insult", especially when the signs were not in themselves fulfill.
not right, to my way of seeing things, subjecting them to tremendous and costly surgeries to them obviously pretending that "their lack of willpower."

would be great if we spent as much time to listen, to help ... Or, even if only for comfort.
would be nice and comforting to see disappear before our eyes, query to query, the fault that has tortured until the day he decided to ask our advice.
would be heroic and almost magical in the last end, can you just say, sincerely and boldly, without any shame or intellectual urgency: "I can not do anything for you ... I do not know how. I advise you to consult with someone more experienced than me. Many

follow slavishly, academic streams because they have not had a Ferrari of Sel has taught them that if they think differently should remember that doctors themselves are that if the medicine has progressed thanks to the doctors have shouted their truths no matter who wounded or against what structures are confronted, they have banned silence their opinions ... I feel so sorry.
servile attitude toward teachers is a thousand times worse than rebellion and disobedience, much worse than the lack of respect towards them prohibits us from the Hippocratic oath.
and avail ourselves of this attitude for the sole purpose of making money, rather than denigrate us utter poverty. Because humans can adapt to material poverty, but poverty will eventually debase ethics. And we will become more vile than having intellectual wealth, we accept the general view because, quite simply, is more comfortable, profitable and bit embarrassing.

dogma only serves to religions.
Medicine is not a religion: it is just a living science (perhaps the liveliest of all the sciences), which like all living things grow but never die ... at least not before the death of the last of the men.

Poor doctor who unknowingly hurt.
God help the doctor hurts knowing that hurts.
And to enlighten all who covered in the sad condition of dogmatic resists with all his forces as benevolent skepticism.

Let us have faith.
