Why Do Some People Have Hiccups More Than Others

On the gestalt in my opinion (6 th installment)

The word "neurotic or neurotic" popular language has a meaning or intonation often derogatory and may eventually be used to label someone insane / or and / or loco / a .

In fact, in the dictionary of the RAE, I find as a definition of neurosis: functional disease of the nervous system characterized mainly by emotional instability.

Gestalt adopted very early in terms of health rather than pathological criteria. Therefore, we do not speak from the clinical terminology and yes we do so from the greater or lesser degree of consciousness that exists in the person, the style of transpersonal psychology.
Frits Perls, founder of the Gestalt and great sage of our time, defines the neurotic one way, in my opinion, more accurate and precise. Says

"A neurotic can be defined as an individual unable to assume their full identity and responsibility of mature behavior. Will do anything to stay in this state of immaturity, even play the role of adult child according to his conception of what is an adult. Not conceived as self-sufficient, able to mobilize their own potential to face the world. Find support through leadership, support, explanations and answers. Does not mobilize its own resources, but their means of manipulation of the environment. The sole purpose of this avoidance tendency is to maintain the status quo that is in clinging to the idea that we are children. "

And no, no need to seek if this definition fits or not what you think you are. From my point of view, we are all neurotic . Again, everyone. We all have our character printed on ways of operating that were created when girls or boys and that we maintain. Most of the time in a very unconscious, for a lifetime.
As the we can take care of this and see it as , as in our actions or inactions are accompanying @ s always that child or that child who went from small @ s and all the systems we develop to feel loved @ s @ s recognized by the environment, as saying that we can realize that it is, began to grow and develop fully as adults. With its advantages and "inconvenient." Why we know that grow and grow larger, sometimes "hurts."

In some cases, people are handled in this unconscious with a certain ease and wellbeing, and if so, that's right.

When this is not so, and no understand some of our actions or attitudes of others toward us / you, when not know how to handle with facets of life, or when emotions threaten to invade and / or overflow, Gestalt Therapy can help know the neurotic @ your inner and at the pace you or your neurotic / to need it, can enhance self-support base is the main objective of growth according to Gestalt.

not always easy. From the Gestalt approach, also contemplate love and attention to resistance to this growth , what is defined as "neurotic mechanisms." The person who comes often have the desire and commitment to know, learning to achieve self-reliance and growth. But these mechanisms are well established in one or the same block @ and awareness of their own decisions. Often impede progress in the process for a while.

I write about some of the "neurotic mechanisms" have looked through the prism Gestalt in the next installment.

Until then, I wish tod @ s, a conscious and neurotic healthy day! Salud!
